GAZIPUR, Jan 28, 2026 (BSS)- BNP Chairman Tarique Rahman today said the people will not allow any vote robbery in the upcoming 13th National Parliamentary Election scheduled for February 12.

He said, “There have been movements, there have been struggles, and the autocrat has been driven out of the country. Now it is time to rebuild the nation, now it is time to change the fate of the people. Therefore, we must work hard and remain united. If we stay united, Insha’Allah, gradually we will be able to build our long-cherished Bangladesh.”

The BNP Chairman made the remarks at an election rally at the Bhawal Rajbari ground in Gazipur while returning to Dhaka from Mymensingh around midnight on Tuesday.

He said, “Voting will start early in the morning, and you will begin voting immediately, Insha’Allah. You must stay in front of the polling center and make sure, inch by inch, that everything is properly done.”

Noting that it has been many years since people last got the chance to vote, Tarique Rahman said, “Since we did not get the opportunity to vote, previously various people looted the votes in different ways. This time we must remain alert so that no one can steal our votes.”

Tarique Rahman said, “The people of Gazipur have made a huge contribution in restoring our democracy and safeguarding freedom once again. They have proven it during the July Uprising, thousands of people from Gazipur went to Dhaka that day. Therefore, this contribution must not be wasted in any way.”

At this time, Tarique Rahman introduced BNP candidates Mojibur Rahman for Gazipur-1, M. Manzurul Karim Rony for Gazipur-2, S.M. Rafiqul Islam Bacchu for Gazipur-3, Shah Riazul Hannan for Gazipur-4, and Fazlul Haque Milon for Gazipur-5; and called upon the people to vote for them.

The BNP Chairman also outlined various plans, including establishing more new industrial institutions in Gazipur, introducing family cards, setting up day-care centers for children in industrial establishments, constructing a flyover over the Joydebpur rail crossing to ease traffic congestion in Gazipur, excavating canals in Gazipur, and providing farmer cards for farmers. He sought votes for the Sheaf of Paddy candidates in the February 12 election to implement these plans.

The rally was presided over by Mohanagar President Shawkat Hossain Sarkar and conducted by M. Manzurul Karim Rony and Chowdhury Ishrak Ahmed Siddiqui.

Among others, BNP Organizing Secretary Kazi Sayeedul Alam Babul, central leaders Benzir Ahmed Tito, Humayun Kabir Khan, Mazharul Alam, Omar Faruk Shafin, Khandaker Azizur Rahman Pera, Motaleb Hossain, Humayun Kabir Sarkar, Abu Taher Musalli, Sarkar Javed Ahmed Suman, and others also spoke at the rally.
