Palestinian Ambassador meets Jamaat Ameer

DHAKA, Jan 28, 2026 (BSS)- Palestinian Ambassador to Bangladesh Yousef SY Ramadan paid a courtesy call on Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Dr. Shafiqur Rahman today at the Jamaat-e-Islami central office in the capital.

The discussion took place in a warm and cordial atmosphere, underscoring the friendly ties between Bangladesh and Palestine, said a press release.
 
During the meeting, Dr. Shafiqur Rahman reaffirmed Bangladesh's longstanding and historic relationship with Palestine. He emphasized that the people of Bangladesh, regardless of their political affiliations, have consistently supported Palestine’s just cause. 

Dr. Rahman also called for immediate action from the United Nations, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), and the global community to put an end to Israel's destructive plans of occupation and forced eviction in Gaza.

The Jamaat Ameer further assured the Ambassador that Bangladesh's unwavering support for Palestine will continue until it’s fully established as an independent state.

In response, Ambassador Ramadan expressed deep gratitude on behalf of the Palestinian people for Bangladesh’s continued support and solidarity. He also expressed his hope that this collaboration will remain strong in the future. 

The meeting was also attended by Jamaat-e-Islami's Assistant Secretary-General and Head of the Central Publicity and Media Department Advocate Ahsanul Mahboob Zubair.
