2-Day intl conference on business, sustainable development begins at VU

RAJSHAHI, Jan 29, 2026 (BSS): A two-day international conference titled "International Conference on Business Innovation and Sustainable Development (ICBISD 2026)" began at Varendra University (VU) here today.

The event was organized by the Department of Business Administration, the conference aims to promote global dialogue on sustainable development, business innovation and technology-driven practices.

Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Md Khademul Islam Mollah inaugurated the conference through a tree-planting programme and balloon release. 

Addressing the inaugural session, he said such international events help strengthen research, innovation and global academic collaboration.

Professor Dr Norhayati Rafida Abdul Rahim of Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia is the principal speaker, while keynote speakers include Associate Professor Dr Bablu Kumar Dhar of Mahidol University, Thailand, and Professor Dr A B M Md Azizul Islam of BRAC University.

A total of 553 researchers and authors from nine countries are participating in the conference, representing 80 universities and institutions, are participating in the conference, which features keynote lectures, technical sessions and research presentations focusing on sustainable and responsible business practices.
