DHAKA, Feb 9, 2026 (BSS) - Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Dr. Shafiqur Rahman today said the 'Rickshaw' symbol in Dhaka-13 constituency embodies the unity of eleven parties, the aspirations of July Uprising, the youth and women and the struggle against domination.

He urged voters to support the 'Rickshaw' symbol to ensure the victory of Maulana Mamunul Haque, the candidate backed by the eleven-party electoral alliance led by Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami.

Jamaat Ameer made the remarks while addressing a massive election rally at Mohammadpur Central Eidgah ground as the chief guest.

Dr. Shafiqur Rahman said, "If 11 party-alliance win by the grace of Allah and the love of the people, the people of Dhaka-13 constituency will get a brave, ethical and dignified guardian."

In his speech at the rally, Dhaka-13 constituency candidate Mamunul Haque said, "If you send me to parliament, I will try to speak about the Quran there. If I am elected, I will not let any mother's child be destroyed by the clutches of drugs.

"I will gift you the Dhaka-13 constituency free of drugs, terrorism and extortion," he added.

Dhaka-13 election steering committee chief adviser Maulana Mahfuzul Haque presided over the rally. Senior leaders of the alliance including National Citizen Party (NCP) Convener Nahid Islam also spoke at the rally as special guest.

Thousands of activists and supporters joined the rally, pledging to secure victory for the 'Rickshaw' symbol.

The rally concluded with a mass procession led by Mamunul Haque, which paraded through Mohammadpur streets before ending at 'Tin Rastar Mor'.
