BNP’s Altaf Hossain unofficially elected from Patuakhali-1

DHAKA, Feb 13, 2026 (BSS)- Altaf Hossain Chowdhury of BNP has been unofficially elected from Patuakhali-1 in the 13th National Parliament Election.

According to the results announced, Chowdhury secured 152,087 votes while his closest rival Md Firoz Alam of Islami Andolon Bangladesh received 58,161 votes.

Alongside the parliamentary polls, a referendum was also held in the constituency. 

In the referendum, 153,032 voters cast ‘Yes’ votes, while 89,268 voters cast ‘No’, vote.

Senior Secretary of the Election Commission (EC) Akhtar Ahmed has declared the result during briefing at the election results collection and presentation center at Nirbachan Office here today.
