BNP's Sultan Salahuddin Tuku wins Tangail-5 constituency

DHAKA, Feb 13, 2026 (BSS) - Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) candidate Sultan Salahuddin Tuku has unofficially been elected in the Tangail-5 constituency in the 13th national parliamentary election, securing a total of 131,279 votes.

According to unofficial results, his closest rival, Ahsan Habib of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami received 80,283 votes.

In the same constituency, 186,833 'yes' votes were cast, while 73,269 'no' votes were recorded in the referendum.

The information was disclosed during a formal briefing at the Referendum and Thirteenth National Parliament Election-2026 Results Collection and Presentation Center of the Election Commission of Bangladesh held at the Agargaon Election Building in the capital.
