
DHAKA, Mar 16, 2026 (BSS) - In a major reshuffle, the Home Ministry today made changes in some top positions of the police department including the chiefs of the RAB, Special Branch (SB), CID and Sahrda Police Academy.
According a notification of the home ministry, Additional Inspector General of Police (Adi.IGP) of the Police headquarters Sardar Nurul Amin has been made the Chief of the Special Branch (SB) while at present Supernumerary Adi-IGP and Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Chattogram range Md Ahsan Habib Polash has been made the Director General (DG) of the Rapid Action Battalion (RAB).
Adi.IGP of Police headquarters Mosleh Uddin Ahmed has been posted to the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) as its chief while present chief of CID Md Sigbat Ullah has been transferred to the police headquarters as Adi.IGP.
At present Commissioner of Chattogram Metropolitan Police (CMP) Adi-IGP Hasib Aziz has been posted to the Armed Police Battalions (APBn) as its chief while Additional Commission of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Hassan Md Shawkot Ali has been made the Commissioner of the CMP.
Meanwhile, Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of the SB Md Moniruzzaman has been posted to the Chattogram range as its DIG.
In another notification, the home ministry posted supernumerary Adi.IGP of the SB GM Azizur Rahman to the Principal of the Sharda Police Academy as its Principal, while at present DIG Police headquarters Md Ashrafur Rahman has given the current charge of Adi.IGP at the police headquarters.
In another notification, the ministry transferred five Superintendents of Police (SPs) and posted them to new stations.
SP of the CID Md Mortoza Ali Khan has been posted to Khagrachhari as its SP while the ministry cancelled the transfer order of Md Mostak Sarkar who was earlier posted as SP Khagrachhari.
SP Madaripur Ehtashamul Haque has been transferred to the CID as its SP and SP Magura Md Habibur Rahman has been posted to Madaripur as its SP and Deputy Commissioner of the DMP Mollah Azad Hossain has been made the SP of Magura.
The home ministry asked all concerned officials to join their new stations as early as possible.
