Book launched on essays at RU

RAJSHAHI, March 31, 2026 (BSS)- At Rajshahi University (RU) on Tuesday, a book titled Text, Translation, Culture: South Asian Contexts was officially launched. 

At 11 a.m, in a simple ceremony held at the Shahidullah Arts Building, the cover of the book was unveiled by the Chief Guest, Vice-Chancellor Professor Md. Faridul Islam.

The programme was also attended by special guests including Dean of Arts Professor Mohammad Belal Hossain, Director of the School of Arts and Social Sciences at Barendra University Professor Md. Shahidur Rahman, and Principal of Paramount School and College Lutfa Ara Rahman.
 
The event was chaired by Head of the English Department, Professor Mominul Islam. 

During the ceremony, Professor Sakhawat Hossain discussed the recently published book.

In addition, the editor of the book, Director of the Institute of English and Other Languages, Professor Masud Akhtar, also delivered a speech. 

The book contains 18 essays covering English language, literature, and related subjects.
 
The book was published by the Professor Arifur Rahman Memorial Trust of the English Department. The program was conducted by Associate Professor Rubaida Akhtar of the department.
