Court imposes travel ban on Anisul Huq, two cohorts

DHAKA, Mar 30, 2026 (BSS) - A court here today imposed a travel ban on former law minister Anisul Huq, his personal secretary (PS) Rashedul Kawsar Bhuiyan Jibon and Huq's alleged friend and confidante Taufiqa Karim.
 
 Dhaka Metropolitan Senior Special Judge Md Sabbir Faiz passed the order , allowing a plea of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID).
  
The petition stated that Taufiqa Karim, Anisul Huq and Rashedul Kawsar Bhuiyan Jibon allegedly acted in collusion to launder criminal proceeds amounting to Taka 24.53 crore, which were obtained through extortion.
 
 It further said that restricting their foreign travel is necessary to ensure a fair and proper investigation into the matter.
