DHAKA, Mar 30, 2026 (BSS) – A Dhaka court today sent content creator RS Fahim Chowdhury to jail after showing him arrested in a case filed with the city’s Gulshan Police Station over the murder of one Md Emran during the July Mass Uprising.

Dhaka Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Jashita Islam passed the order as police produced Fahim before the court and prayed for keeping him behind bars until completion of the investigation. The court, however, fixed tomorrow for hearing on his bail petition.

A group of unidentified people apprehended Fahim near the National Zoo on March 29 and later handed him over to police. He was subsequently shown arrested in the case.

According to the case documents, a procession brought out by the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement in front of Shahjadpur Subastu Tower on July 19, 2024, came under attack by police and Awami League activists. Md Emran, who was returning home through the area at the time, sustained bullet injuries and later died at a hospital.

The case was filed on April 25, 2025, in this connection.
