Dulu mourns deaths in Kadamtali fire

DHAKA, April 5, 2026 (BSS) - Disaster Management and Relief Minister Asadul Habib Dulu today expressed deep shock over the loss of lives in a tragic fire that broke out in the city's Kadamtali area.

In a condolence message, he prayed for eternal peace of the deceased and conveyed his sincere condolences to the bereaved family members. He also sought speedy recovery of the injured.

The minister said Prime Minister Tarique Rahman has already taken necessary measures to help the victims and has directed all the concerned to work with utmost vigilance. 

Stating that effective steps will be taken to prevent such accidents, he urged all to remain alert to avoid fire incidents in the future.

The Kadamtali fire broke out around 1:11pm. Later, the fire was brought under control around 2:30 pm with the efforts of seven firefighting units.

Six people were killed in the devastating fire, authorities confirmed.
