Foreign ministry to expand wings to boost diplomacy

DHAKA, April 09, 2026 (BSS)- Reaffirming a ‘Bangladesh First’ policy, the foreign ministry has launched wide-ranging initiatives to enhance diplomatic effectiveness through restructuring, expansion of operations and strengthening institutional capacity.

The ministry has undertaken multidimensional steps to make Bangladesh’s diplomatic engagement more dynamic, ensuring concrete and result-oriented implementation of its national priority framework, according to a press release issued by the ministry today.

As part of the initiative, the ministry has decided to expand its operational scope, introduce new wings and reorganize its structure to better respond to evolving global and national priorities.

The move aimed at accelerate coordinated and timely actions in key areas, including migration and expatriate welfare, cultural and sports diplomacy, climate and environmental issues, transboundary water resource management, and international security, the release said.
