Auto driver dies in Kurigram road crash

KURIGRAM, April 11, 2026 (BSS) - A battery-run auto-rickshaw driver was 
killed and four others were injured in a road accident in Ulipur upazila of 
the district on Saturday noon.

The deceased was identified as Nur Amin, 40. 

The accident occurred on the Chilmari-Kurigram road adjacent to the Ulipur 
Central Bus Terminal around 12 noon when a tractor hit a battery-run auto-
rickshaw from the opposite direction, leaving its driver Nur Amin died on the 
spot and injuring four other passengers, Ulipur Police Station Officer-in-
Charge (OC) Saeed Ibne Siddique confirmed. 

"The auto-rickshaw passenger Shiuli Begum has been sent to Rangpur Medical 
College and Hospital in a critical condition," he said, adding that necessary 
legal action is under process in this regard.
