Interview begins for BNP aspirants for reserved women's seats

DHAKA, April 17, 2026 (BSS) - Interviews of aspirants for the reserved women's seats of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) in the 13th National Parliament began today.

The party's nomination board started the interviews at 3:15 pm at the BNP chairman's office in Gulshan. The board is chaired by BNP Chairman Tarique Rahman.

Before the interviews began, BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi said, "We expect that the Standing Committee and the party's nomination board will properly evaluate the candidates for the women's seats."

Party sources said the interview process will continue for the next two days.

Today, aspirants from Rangpur, Rajshahi, Barishal, Faridpur and Khulna divisions are being interviewed. Aspirants from Chattogram, Sylhet, Cumilla, Dhaka and Mymensingh divisions will appear before the board at 3:00 pm tomorrow.
