JASHORE, April 24, 2026 (BSS) - Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Md Asaduzzaman today said the government is determined to remove all the roots of corruption in the judiciary.

“The independence of the judiciary is being discussed by citing the instance of Masdar Hossain. We do not want to build a corrupt judiciary like that of Masdar Hossain. We want to uproot all roots of graft in the judiciary,” he said.

The law minister made the remarks while speaking as the chief guest at the inauguration of the newly constructed building of the Jashore District Bar Association here.

He said many are raising questions about the July Charter, the National Human Rights Commission, the independence of the judiciary and the Judiciary Secretariat Act.

Each law will be scrutinised and brought to Parliament as a bill, he said.

Asaduzzaman said many are alleging that the BNP is denying the July Charter.
“However, the BNP bears the July Charter in its veins,” he said.

Stating that there is fraudulence in some parts of the July Charter, the law minister said the BNP will keep the promise it made regarding the July Charter.

State Minister for Power, Energy and Mineral Resources and lawmaker from Jashore-3 Aninda Islam Amit, and BNP Central Committee Vice-Chairman Professor Nargis Begum also spoke as special guests at the meeting, with Jashore District Bar Association President Syed Saberul Haque Sabu in the chair.

Earlier, Asaduzzaman visited the grave of former minister and former BNP standing committee member Tariqul Islam at the Karbala graveyard in Jashore town.

Later, he visited the old District Judge Court in the town.
