7 more die of measles-like symptoms

DHAKA, May 13, 2026 (BSS) - At least seven children have died from measles-like symptoms in the last 24 hours, according to a press release issued by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) here today.

It said, since March 15, the total number of deaths from confirmed measles has stood at 69, while deaths from suspected measles cases reached 363.

Besides, a total of 1,489 suspected measles cases and 126 confirmed measles cases were reported across the country in the last 24 hours from Tuesday 8am to Wednesday 8am, it said. 

Since March 15, the total number of suspected measles patients admitted to hospitals has reached 38,054. Of them, 33,832 patients have so far been discharged from hospitals.
