DHAKA, May 14, 2026 (BSS) - Professor Dr M M Shariful Karim of the English Department has been appointed as the new Vice Chancellor of Cumilla University (CoU).

The information was disclosed in a notification issued today by the Secondary and Higher Education Division under the Ministry of Education.

According to the notification, he was appointed under Section 10(1) of the Cumilla University Act, 2006, with the approval of the President and Chancellor of the university.

As per the terms of the appointment, he will serve as Vice Chancellor for the next four years from the date of joining or until his retirement, whichever comes first. During his tenure, he will receive salary and allowances equivalent to those of his current position, along with other benefits in accordance with the university’s rules.
