LAKSHMIPUR, May 30, 2026 (BSS) - Water Resources Minister Md. Shahiduddin Chowdhury Anee today said Prime Minister Tarique Rahman is spearheading the government’s development initiatives following the footsteps of his parents.
 
“Tarique Rahman is making efforts to take ahead the country following the ideals and vision of his parents,” he told a discussion organized by Lakshmipur District BNP marking 45th martyrdom anniversary of Shaheed President Ziaur Rahman.
 
Anee, also joint secretary general of BNP, said Tarique Rahman’s parents Ziaur Rahman and Begum Khaleda Zia both were people-oriented, democratic-minded, and patriotic statesmen.
 
The minister said BNP had worked for the people of the country in the past and continues to do so.
 
He said just as in the past, the people have once again entrusted BNP with state power to take ahead the country.
 
The BNP leader urged the party men to work for the betterment of the people imbued with the ideology of Ziaur Rahman and Begum Khaleda Zia.
