Future Bangladesh needs action, not empty words: Habibur Rashid

DHAKA, June 20, 2026 (BSS) - State Minister for Road Transport and Highways Division Habibur Rashid today said action is must to build a prosperous Bangladesh.

"The Prime Minister's directive is to stand beside the people, serve them and ensure that government services reach their doorsteps. 

We have come to you to distribute these cheques so that you do not have to visit government offices repeatedly to collect allocated funds. We want actions, not empty speeches," he said.

He made the remarks at a cheque distribution programme for funds allocated under the Rural Infrastructure Development Project at the Madartek Abdul Aziz School and College ground in Sabujbagh thana here today.

He said the government's position against terrorism, extortion and drugs is unequivocal.

Those involved in terrorist activities, drug abuse and drug trafficking and those who seek to create disorder in society will be dealt firmly, he warned. 

He called on all to remain united for the sake of national development and to prevent the spread of terrorism, extortion and drugs abuse.

"We will build a better Bangladesh of the future through our work," he added.

Earlier, the state minister inaugurated a free health camp organised by Square Pharmaceuticals at Madrasa in the same area.

Leaders of Khilgaon, Sabujbagh, Mugda and Maniknagar thana units of BNP and various associate and affiliated organisations were present at the event.
