INMP, NICRH sign MoU to enhance cancer treatment services

DHAKA, July 14, 2026 (BSS) - The Institute of Nuclear Medical Physics (INMP) and the National Institute of Cancer Research and Hospital (NICRH) today signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to make cancer treatment more accessible, improve patient care and expand cancer treatment services in the country.

The MoU was signed at the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare in Dhaka, a PID release said.

Under the agreement, the two institutions will collaborate in cancer patient management, radiation oncology, medical physics, quality assurance, research, education, training and technological development.

The signing ceremony was told that cancer patients from across the country often face long waiting periods at NICRH, delaying treatment and affecting its effectiveness.

Through the partnership, INMP will provide modern cancer treatment services alongside NICRH, helping reduce patient pressure on the hospital and shorten waiting times.

NICRH Director Dr. Mostafa Aziz Suman and INMP Director Md. Selim Reza signed the MoU on behalf of their respective institutions.

Health and Family Welfare Minister Sardar Md. Sakhawat Husain attended the ceremony as chief guest.

Health Services Division Secretary Md. Kamruzzaman Chowdhury, Science and Technology Secretary Md. Anwar Hossain, Director General of the Directorate General of Health Services Dr. Prabhat Chandra Biswas, Chairman of the Bangladesh Atomic Energy Commission Dr. Moinul Islam and senior officials from the two institutions were also present.
