CHATTOGRAM, July 14, 2026 (BSS) - A mobile court today fined the proprietor of Sadiya's Kitchen, a restaurant in the city's East Nasirabad area, Tk 3 lakh for multiple food safety and hygiene violations.

The drive was conducted by Assistant Commissioner (Land) and Executive Magistrate Shifat Binte Ara.

During the inspection, the mobile court found rotten eggs and breadcrumbs, along with infestations of rats, cockroaches, mosquitoes and flies.

Officials also detected several unhygienic food storage practices, including storing raw chicken with leftover food in the same freezer, operating a chicken farm at the food processing site, open drainage near the premises and keeping yogurt alongside meat in unsealed containers.

The authorities said the conditions posed serious risks to public health, prompting the court to impose the fine.
