DHAKA, July 17, 2026 (BSS) - The Bangladesh national women's kabaddi team got off to a winning start in the five-match bilateral kabaddi test series beating their Nepalese counterpart by 34-24 points in the first match held today at the National Kabaddi Stadium in the capital.

IGP of Bangladesh Police and Bangladesh Kabaddi Federation President Ali Hossain Fakir formally inaugurated the tournament as the chief guest, while Prime Minister's daughter Barrister Zaima Rahman, attended the opening ceremony as the guest of honour.

Bangladesh dominated over Nepal from the very outset, adopting an aggressive approach throughout the match. The hosts combined disciplined defence with well-planned attacks to take a 14-10 lead at halftime, putting the visitors under early pressure.

Although Nepal fought hard to stage a comeback after the break, they were unable to overturn the deficit. Bangladesh eventually secured a comfortable ten points victory.

Bangladesh captain Sraboni Mollik was named the player of the match for her outstanding performance.
