SIRAJGANJ, July 17, 2026 (BSS) - Power, Energy and Mineral Resources Minister Iqbal Hassan Mahmood today inaugurated a 150-kilowatt (kW) rooftop on-grid solar power system at the deputy commissioner's office in Sirajganj.

Installed on the unused rooftop of the DC office, the project was financed by the cabinet division and brought under the net metering system on July 9.

Speaking at the inauguration, the minister said the government aims to expand rooftop solar power generation across the country by replicating the Sirajganj model, describing it as part of efforts to accelerate the country's solar energy transition.
