NIMC should utilize opportunities for human resource development: Mahfuj

DHAKA, Aug 13, 2025 (BSS) – Information and Broadcasting Adviser Md. Mahfuj Alam today called upon the officials of the National Institute of Mass Communication (NIMC) to utilize the institutional opportunities for human resources development.

“This institution has many opportunities to work for human resource development. These opportunities should be utilized properly,” he said. 

The adviser said this at a view exchange meeting with the officials of the NIMC after visiting the institute.

Regarding institutional improvement, Mahfuj put emphasize on updating the training curriculum and enhancing the quality of training as well. He stressed on expanding cooperation between the NIMC and foreign training organizations.

The adviser urged the NIMC authority to impart training to journalists on journalism and students, who were injured during the 2024 July uprising.

NIMC Director General Muhammad Hiruzzaman and other officials of the institute were present at the event.

Besides, the adviser also visited the Bangladesh Cinema and Television Institute (BCTI) today and joined another view exchange meeting with the officials where he urged the BCTI authority to modernize the training curriculum.

Mahfuj assured that the ministry would extend support for infrastructural and overall development of the BCTI.

He also called upon the BCTI officials to work on improving the quality of training programmes.

BCTI Chief Executive Abul Kalam Mohammad Shamsuddin and other officials of the institute were present at the event.
