Mahfuj for publishing writings on memories of children martyred in July Uprising

DHAKA, Sept 17, 2025 (BSS) - Information and Broadcasting Adviser Md Mahfuj Alam today urged the concerned to publish a special issue of the 'Nabarun' magazine on the writings and memories of the children who were martyred in the July Uprising. 

The adviser urged the officials of the Department of Films and Publications to take immediate initiatives in this regard. 

He made the call at a view-exchange meeting with the writers of the monthly magazine 'Nabarun' published by the DFP at the Tathya Bhaban here.

Stating that there are many opportunities to work with the 'Nabarun' magazine, Mahfuj Alam said that the pictures and writings of children and teenagers should be published with importance in this magazine. If the writings and pictures of children and teenagers are published in the 'Nabarun' magazine, they will be inspired, he added. 

This will develop their creativity, he said, adding, “No matter which government comes to power, it should be neutral towards children and teenagers.” 

He requested the writers to write on various socio-economic issues including the language movement, the great Liberation War, the July Uprising of 1924.

Stressing the importance of preserving the 'Nabarun' newspaper digitally, he said from the beginning of its publication till now, all the issues of 'Nabarun' newspaper should be preserved digitally and kept open to the public. In this way, readers can enrich themselves by reading old issues online, he added.

Urging to boost the popularity of 'Nabarun' magazine, the adviser said that a separate section for new writers should be introduced in the magazine. 

He advised the authorities to publish the writings of at least five new writers in each issue of the magazine. 

He urged the officials of DFP to take the initiative to organize a day-long workshop for children's writers.

At the beginning of the meeting, the editor of the magazine Israt Jahan presented a documentary on the magazine 'Nabarun'.
