RAJSHAHI, May 1, 2026 (BSS) - Rajshahi City Corporation (RCC) has launched an extensive publicity campaign across the city ahead of the inauguration of "Notun Kuri Sports-2026," set to take place on May 2 at Sylhet District Stadium.

Prime Minister Tarique Rahman is scheduled to formally inaugurate the programme, which aims to identify and nurture talented athletes from the grassroots to the national level as part of the government's commitment to sports development.

The opening ceremony will be broadcast live nationwide, with arrangements made for simultaneous screening at Rajshahi District Muktijuddho Smriti Stadium.

To mark the occasion, RCC has undertaken wide-ranging promotional activities, including the deployment of decorated caravan vehicles across major roads, intersections, and key public gathering points in the city.

RCC Administrator Mahfuzur Rahman Riton inaugurated the publicity drive. In addition, banners, festoons and overhead displays have been installed throughout the city to raise public awareness about the event.

The administrator urged city residents to gather at the Rajshahi District Muktijuddho Smriti Stadium to watch the ceremony and show their support for the country's growing sports sector.
