Whip Bakul inaugurates Khulna Zone 'Notun Kuri Sports' to hunt young talents

KHULNA, May 2, 2026 (BSS) - Jatiya Sangsad whip Rakibul Islam Bakul today inaugurated the Khulna zone of the "Notun Kuri Sports" programme by releasing balloons at the district stadium premises, after Prime Minister Tarique Rahman had inaugurated the programme nationwide.

Aimed at identifying sports talents among children and adolescents across the country, the inauguration ceremony was held at the Sylhet District Stadium this afternoon under the initiative of the Ministry of Youth and Sports.

After the ceremony, the Prime Minister unveiled the logo and trophy of the "Notun Kuri Sports" and inaugurated eight game zones before exchanging greetings with the participating players.

State Minister for Youth and Sports Md. Aminul Haque chaired the function, while Secretary of the Ministry of Youth and Sports Md. Mahbub-Ul-Alam delivered the welcome address.

At the Khulna District Stadium, Bangladesh Jatiya Sangsad Whip Rakibul Islam Bakul inaugurated the ceremony as chief guest. 

Khulna-1 constituency lawmaker Amir Ezaz Khan, KCC Administrator Nazrul Islam Manju, Zila Parishad Administrator Monirul Hasan Bappi, Range DIG Md. Rezaul Haque, Additional Divisional Commissioner (General) Abu Sayed Md. Monjur Alam, Superintendent of Police Md. Tajul Islam, Deputy Director of Local Government of the district administration Md. Ariful Islam, Khulna City BNP President Advocate Shafiqul Alam Mona and officials of different government and non-government organisations, teachers and students were present.
