Fugitive Jubo League leader held in Ctg

CHATTOGRAM, Jan 6, 2025 (BSS) - A fugitive Jubo League leader, implicated in
a case involving attack and murder during the anti-discrimination students
movement, was arrested from Shankar Dewanjirghat area of Chandgaon Police
Station last night.

The arrested Md Ershad Alam, a local Jubo League leader of North Chandgaon
area, is the close associate of Ex-CCC Councilor Md Esrarul Haque Esral, said
Md Aftab Uddin, officer-in-charge (OC) of Chandgaon Police Station.

Alam was at large since deposed Sheikh Hasina on August 5, the OC added.

"Alam was involved in several attacking incidents in different areas of the
Chandgaon area in Chattogram during the anti-discrimination students
movement," the OC said, adding that he was accused in a murder case with
Chandgaon Police Station on September 20, 2024.

Ershad Alam, son of late Ibrahim and a resident of Chandgaon Bapery para
area, would produce before the Chattogram court showing arrest of the murder
case, the OC remarked.
