Kazi Zafar Ullah's bail plea scrapped in BNP activist killing case

DHAKA, Jan 7, 2025 (BSS) - A court here today scrapped bail plea of Awami 
League (AL) Presidium Member Kazi Zafar Ullah in a case lodged over the 
murder of BNP activist Mokbul Hossain 2022.

Dhaka Metropolitan Sessions Judge Md Zakir Hossain passed the order as the AL 
leader's counsel argued for bail in the case.

Kazi Zafar Ullah was arrested on September 19, 2024 and is behind bars since 
then.

According to the case documents, BNP leaders and activists as part of their 
party programme on December 10, 2022 began to gather in the capital. Marking 
the programme, police and AL men created ruckus in front of the BNP 
headquarters in Naya Paltan on December 7. They entered the BNP office and 
charged baton and opened fire at the BNP men, injuring Mokbul critically.

Later, Mokbul died from his injuries at the hospital. The case was filed on 
September 30, 2024.
