ACC sues ex MP Shikhor, wife on graft charges

DHAKA, Jan 7, 2025 (BSS)- The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) today filed two separate cases against former Magura-1 Constituency MP Saifuzzaman Shikhor and his wife Sima Rahman for amassing illegal wealth  . 

ACC Director General (Prevention) M Akhter Hossain told this at a media briefing that two cases were filed against husband and wife at the ACC's Dhaka office today.

 According to the case statement, Saifuzzaman Shikhor misused the power to gain financial benefit for his own interests by illegal means and obtained illegal assets worth about Taka 1.79 crore, he mentioned.

He was found suspicious and unusual transactions in his seven personal and business bank accounts.

 In another case, it is mentioned that Shikhor’s wife Sima Rahman abused her husband's political power to gain financial benefit for her own purposes by acquiring assets worth about Taka  1.16 crore .
