DHAKA, Jan 7, 2025 (BSS) - Police has arrested notorious robber MD Abdul Hannan,45, along with his two associates in the capital’s Kamalapur.

The other two were identified Md Khokan Sarder, 50 and Md Soleman Mridha, 20, said a media release of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) today.

According to police record, Hannan is wanted in five cases, including drugs, kidnapping, robbery, at the Sabujbagh and Khilgaon area under DMP area.

The release said Motijheel Police Station, on secret information, came to know that a group of 8-10 people were taking preparation in front of Kamalapur water tank, located behind Kamalapur Railway School and College, to commit robbery. 

A patrol team of the police station getting this information rushed to the spot, but sensing the presence of the law enforcers the robbers were trying to flee the scene.

Police, however, was able to round up the three while the remained were managed to escape. 
    
A wooden-handled knife, a plastic-handled knife, a wooden-handled hammer, a stainless steel knife, a steel sharp knife and a plastic screwdriver were recovered from their possession at that time.

Police said the arrested three are absconding robbers.
