CHATTOGRAM, Jan 13, 2025 (BSS) - Police in a drive arrested Mohammad Elias,
former councilor of Chattogram City Corporation (CCC), from a residence at
Kalabagan in the capital yesterday.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Halishahar Police Station Moniruzzaman told BSS
that the arrested was sent to jail through a Chattogram Court today.

He was a prime accused in a case filed by the wife of human rights worker
Samrat with Halishahar Police Station on August 27, the OC said.

According to the case, Elias and his cohorts attacked the students during the
anti-discrimination student movement on August 4 last year.

Besides, two more cases were filed against Elias in Kotwali Police Station,
the OC added.
