Titas continues action against illegal consumers

DHAKA, Jan 13, 2025 (BSS)- Titas Gas authorities has disconnected a total of 18,127 connections and removed 92 km pipeline since beginning of its drive against illegal consumption in September 2024, saving gas worth about Taka 52 lakh per day.

“Every day we have saved 1,14,40,853 cubic feet gas, which is worth about Tk. 52.35 lakh,” an official of Titas said adding that the drive is continuing in Dhaka and adjacent districts.

Titas has disconnected illegal gas line from 145 industries, 86 commercial enterprises and 17,896 households, according to a press release.

The drive was conducted at Keraniganj, Munshiganj, Narayanganj, Savar, Tongi, Gazipur, Dhanmondi, Mirpur, Gulshan, Mymensingh, Meghnaghat and Narsingdi.

Managing Director of Titas Shahnewaz Parvez said campaign against illegal consumers is going on aimed at ensuring smooth supply of gas to its legal subscribers.
