Youth killed as covered van hit him at Sanir Akhra

DHAKA, Jan 16, 2025 (BSS) - A youth was killed as a covered van knocked him down in front of Sanir Akhra Petrol Pump under Jatrabari Police Station in the capital early today, police and hospital sources said.

The deceased was identified as Mohammad Sujon, 30, a staff (helper) of a bus of Green Line Paribahaban, Inspector Mohammad Faruk, In-charge of Dhaka Medical College and Hospital (DCH) police outpost told BSS this morning.

Victim’s co-helper Mohammad Rasel Mia told BSS at DMCH that the covered van hit Sujon from the backside at about 12 midnight while they were waiting for a bus at the Petrol Pump to return his Madanpur’s house under Sonargaon Police Station in Narayanganj.
 
Seriously injured Sujon was first sent to a local hospital. Then he was taken to DMCH. He succumbed to his fatal injuries at 3am, said a DMCH source.

The body was sent to DMCH morgue for autopsy.
