Badiul urges all to keep fascist away from parliament, politics

CUMILLA, Jan 18, 2025 (BSS) - Chief of the Election Reform Commission Dr Badiul Alam Majumdar today urged all to keep fascist away from the parliament and the politics to ensure a clean political environment in the country.

“We have already recommended keeping the fascist and criminals away from the parliament and the politics for the sake of ensuring a healthy political environment in the country,” he said.

The made the remarks while addressing a seminar organized by Cumilla Bachao Manch at Maynamati auditorium in Bangladesh Academy for Rural Development (BARD) here.

The seminar was organized to evaluate the prgramme ‘Dream Mega City Cumilla and AHK Satellite City’ where the key working paper was presented by former lawmaker and adviser to the BNP Chairperson Monirul Haque Chowdhury.

In this connection, Badiul Alam said, “We have to introduce such a system in the country to refresh the arena of politics as the fascists, killers, culprits, who are involved in enforced disappearances and responsible for human rights violations could not get involved in the country’s politics.”

Among others, senior lawyer of Bangladesh Supreme Court Barrister Abdullah Al Mamun, Additional Director General of the BARD Dr Abdul Karim, Chief Executive Officer of Cumilla Zila Parishad Nazrul Islam, Vice-President of National Cooperatives Union Adv. Kazi Nazmus Sadat, President and General Secretary of Cumilla Bachao Manch adv. Golam Faruk and adv. Motaleb Hossain Majumder addressed the seminar.
