Court orders to freeze 26 bank accounts of ex-minister Zillul, family members

DHAKA, Jan 19, 2025 (BSS) – A court here today directed the authorities concerned to freeze 26 bank accounts of former rail minister Zillul Hakim, his wife Saeeda Hakim, and their son Ashik Mahmud.

The accounts collectively hold a total of Taka 63.63 crore.   

Dhaka Metropolitan Sessions Judge Md. Zakir Hossain Galib passed the order today following a petition submitted by the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC).

According to ACC reports, Zillul Hakim and his family members amassed significant wealth through irregularities. Of the accounts- 19 belong to Zillul Hakim, six belong to Saeeda Hakim and one account against the name of their son Ashik Mahmud.
