DHAKA, Jan 20, 2025 (BSS) - The Detective Branch (DB) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) arrested former Awami League (AL) lawmaker Dr Mostofa Jalal Mohiuddin from the city's Mohammadpur area in the early hours of today.

Mohiuddin was arrested from the Monsurabad Housing Society at Mohammadpur, Talebur Rahman, deputy commissioner (Media) of the DMP, told BSS.

He is accused in several cases including murder, the DMP official added.

Mostofa Jalal Mohiuddin, a senior leader of AL, was elected Member of Parliament (MP) from Dhaka-7 constituency in 2008.

He will be produced before the court for further legal procedure, Talebur Rahman further said.
