5 remanded for distributing banned BCL's leaflets

DHAKA, Feb 13, 2025 (BSS) - A court here today placed five people including college teacher Mukib Miah on a three-day remand each in a case lodged under anti-terrorism act for distributing leaflets of banned Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL).

The four other remanded accused were Jubo League leader Kafil Haider Sajal, Jubo League activists Km Saiful Khan, Sheikh Mohammad Hafiz and BCL leader Abdus Salam Lavlu.

Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Monirul Islam passed the order as police produced them before the court and pleaded to place them on a 10-day remand each in the case filed with the Shahbagh Police Station.

The five accused were arrested from the city's Mirpur area on February 3 for bringing out sudden procession in front of the National Press Club on February 1 and distributing leaflets for BCL.
