39 members of AL, affiliated bodies held in Ctg

CHATTOGRAM, Feb 17, 2025 (BSS) - Chattogram Metropolitan Police (CMP) today arrested 39 leaders and activists of   Awami League (AL), Jubo League and Chhatra League from different police stations for attacking protesters during the student-people mass uprising in July- August last year.

Several teams of the CMP conducted the drives in last 24 hours and arrested them.

The detained leaders and activists of the ousted ruling Awami League and its affiliated bodies have been implicated in several cases   for attacks and other criminal charges during the mass uprising.

Additional Deputy Commissioner (Media and Public Relations) of the CMP said most of the arrestees are wanted in several cases.
