TANGAIL, Feb 17, 2025 (BSS) - BNP Standing Committee Member Dr. Abdul Moyeen Khan today said the new generation is not determined by age but by new thoughts and ideas.
“We will determine the new generation not by age but their new thoughts” he told a rally organized by Tangail District BNP at Shaheed Smriti Municipal Park.
About the national polls, Khan said the people of the country have been fighting for regaining their rights to vote for the past one and a half decades.
Thousands of BNP leaders and activists were subjected to torture including imprisonment in the movement to establish democracy in the country while many others were subjected to enforced disappearances and murders.
Talking about institutional reforms of the interim government, Khan said reform is an ongoing process and it will continue.
“'Essential reforms including law enforcement reform, administration reform, and Election Commission reform must be completed quickly for elections,” he said.
The new generation did not get the opportunity to vote in the past three terms so that they are waiting to exercise their right of franchise, he said.
Tangail District BNP President Hasanuzzammil Shaheen presided over the rally, moderated by District BNP General Secretary Farhad Iqbal.
BNP Vice-Chairman Ahmed Azam Khan, Publicity Secretary Sultan Salahuddin Tuku, Children's Affairs Secretary Abul Kalam Azad Siddiqui, Organizing Secretary (Dhaka Division) Kazi Saiyedul Alam Babul, Assistant Organizing Secretary Benazir Ahmed Titu, Cultural Affairs Assistant Secretary Sayed Sohrab, and Executive Committee Member SM Obaidul Haque Nasir also spoke.
