DHAKA, Feb 18, 2025 (BSS) -A court here today imposed travel ban on former Member of Parliament (MP) from Jashore-3 constituency Kazi Nabil Ahmed, his mother Amina Ahmed, brothers Kazi Anis Ahmed and Kazi Enam Ahmed over graft charges.

Dhaka Metropolitan Senior Special Judge Zakir Hossain Galib passed the order, allowing a plea of the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC).

The anti-graft body in its plea said it is probing allegations of money laundering against Gemcon Group, owned by Nabil's family, and its sister concerns through bank fraud and other corruption. The accused persons are trying to flee the country to evade justice and travel ban should be imposed on them, it added.

Meanwhile, the court also imposed travel ban on former state minister for ICT Zunaid Ahmed Palak's wife Arifa Jesmin Konika.
