DHAKA, Feb 18, 2025 (BSS) - A court here today ordered to freeze nine bank accounts, attach approximate 137 decimals of land of former state minister for primary and mass education Zakir Hossain and imposed travel ban on him over graft allegations.

Dhaka Metropolitan Senior Special Judge Zakir Hossain Galib passed the order, allowing two separate pleas of the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC).

The ACC in one plea said it has filed a graft case against Zakir on January 21 for acquiring illegal wealth. He should be barred from leaving the country for the sake of proper investigation of the case.

The anti-graft body also pleaded to freeze, seize, and attach his movable and immovable properties.
