Notorious criminal Kobjikata Anwar held with his 2 cohorts

DHAKA, Feb 18, 2025 (BSS) - Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) on Monday arrested
another hardened criminal of Mohammadpur area along with his two gang members
from the city's Keraniganj and Adabar areas.
 
The arrested were Md. Anwar alias Shooter Anwar alias Kobjikata Anwar, 36,
the head of the notorious terrorist 'Kobjikata Gang' of Mohammadpur in the
capital city, and his associates Md. Emon, 20, and Md. Farid, 27.

Acting on a tipped-off, a team of the RAB-2 arrested Kabjikata Anwar from
Keraniganj area and his two gang members Emon and Farid from the city's
Adabar area on Monday along with one locally-made weapon Samurai, two knives,
eight kilograms of marijuana, one private car and one wristwatch.

Commander of RAB-2 Additional Deputy Inspector General of Police Md Khadimul
Haque Hawlader briefed media about their arrest at RAB Media Centre in the
city's Kawran Bazar area today.
 
The arrestees have been accused in numerous cases with various police
stations of the capital, including multiple murder cases, attempt to murder,
extortion, cases under the arms and narcotics control acts.

During interrogation, Anwar said he moved to Dhaka from Bagerhat district
with his father in search of livelihood in 2005. When he came to Dhaka, he
used to transport pure drinking water.

In the first stage, Anwar joined the crime world by robbing and extorting at
bus stands. In 2024, he established "Kobjikata Gang" by cutting people's
wrists and spreading the video on social media and creating a huge stir on
TikTok and social media.

The gang was involved in various crimes including murder, arms and drug
dealing, extortion and robbery in Dhaka Udyan, Chandrima Udyan, Nabi Nagar
Housing, Chandrima Housing of Mohammadpur area and Shyamoli Housing,
Shekhertek, Navodaya Housing Society in Adabar area.

Legal action is underway against the arrested accused.
