DB arrests 2 women with 1.23 KG heroin from Basila

DHAKA, Feb 19, 2025 (BSS) - The Detective Branch (DB) of police has arrested two alleged women drug traffickers from Basila area and seized one kilogram and 230 grams of smuggled heroin from their possession on Tuesday night.

The arrested women were identified as-Sabina Akhter, 22 and Rina Begum, 39.

A team of the DB Lalbagh division, acting on a tip off, raided a flat at Suchana Housing, Basila under Mohammadpur Thana at about 8:00pm and arrested the women. 

Police later seized the heroin along with 12 bundle foil paper, two digital measurement machines and a plastic film with power cord from their possessions. 

Police said the arrested women are the members of an organized drug trafficking gang and were involved in drug trafficking in and outside the capital. 

They also confessed to the police that they collected the heroin for tracking and selling it. Legal actions were taken against the arrested persons.
