Court orders to attach buildings of ex-mayor Sayeed Khokon, sister

DHAKA, Feb 26, 2025 (BSS) - A court here today ordered to attach a 14-storied building in the city's Gulshan area and two houses in Banani of former member of parliament (MP) from Dhaka-6 and Dhaka South city mayor Mohammad Sayeed Khokon, a plot and a building in Baridhara area of his sister Shahana Hanif, over graft allegations.

Dhaka Metropolitan Senior Special Judge Md Zakir Hossain Galib passed the order accepting a plea of the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC).

The court also ordered to freeze Taka 90 crore of Khokon, his wife Farhana Sayeed, his sister Shahana Hanif deposited as perpetual bond at City Bank PLC.

The ACC in its plea said they have received numerous allegations of corruption including suspicious transactions against the accused. It is probing the allegations and the said properties must be attached for the sake of proper investigation, it added.
