COX'S BAZAR, Feb 26, 2025 (BSS) – In a unique initiative to protect trees, a nail removal programme from various species of trees has begun in Cox’s Bazar this morning.

The program was begun through a rally from the Guna Grove, where nails were removed from various types of trees.

Led by Cox's Bazar North Forest Division Divisional Forest Officer Md. Maruf Hossain, the rally was participated by Additional District Magistrate (ADM), Cox’s Bazar Imran Hossain Sajeeb and Additional Superintendent of Police Md. Nazmul Shakib and officers from the Forest Department and students from local schools, colleges, and universities took part in the programme.

In his speech, Maruf Hossain highlighted the importance of tree protection in Cox’s Bazar, noting that the nails were being removed to ensure the health of the region’s trees.

He said, “It is our moral responsibility to protect trees since they provide us oxygen,". He expressed the hope that everyone would join hands in safeguarding these valuable natural resources.

The program seeks to raise awareness and encourage collective efforts to preserve trees and prevent them from any harm caused by human activities.
