Police arrest a wanted dacoit with associate in Motijheel

DHAKA, Mar 10, 2025 (BSS) – Police have apprehended a dacoit wanted in seven cases along with his associate in the capital’s Motijheel areas.

The arrestees were identified as Tushar alias Tanmoy, 24, a wanted dacoit in seven cases, and Md. Masum, 26, said a media release of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) today.

Both are active members of inter-district robbery gang.
  
A team of Motijheel Police Station conducted a raid under the foot-over bridge in front of Motijheel Ideal School and College at 12:30 am on Monday and rounded up the duo.

They confessed, during initial interrogation, their involvement in robbery, and drug dealing across the country, including the capital, said police.

Tushar alias Tanmoy was wanted in cases, including a robbery, drugs and theft with capital’s Chawkbazar police station, Kalukhali, Meherpur Sadar and Mujibnagar police stations in Rajbari, Barhatra in Netrokona and Gurudaspur police stations in Natore. 

The other arrested accused, Md. Masum, has two cases against him with Motijheel and Jatrabari police stations.

Legal action is being taken against the arrested.
