DHAKA, March 10, 2025 (BSS) – The Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) has taken special measures to ensure security of people across the country during the holy month of Ramadan.   

“As part of the special measures, the RAB has increased intelligence surveillance throughout the country, including the capital with deploying sufficient patrols and setting up check posts to maintain law and order,” said Director General of RAB, Additional IGP AKM Shahidur Rahman.

He was talking to journalists after inspecting the patrols and check posts at the city’s different strategic points under the supervision of RAB.

To ensure overall security during the Ramadan, RAB has set up a control room, kept striking forces, enhance foot and mobile patrol and special check posts throughout the country, he said.

He said battalions of the RAB are now conducting operations in their respective areas to check mugging especially during the Iftar and Tarabi prayers.

The RAB chief said RAB’s Cyber Monitoring Team is continuing to monitor online round the clock to take necessary steps to prevent the spread of any kind of rumors, provocative and false information centered on Ramadan.

Mentioning that RAB is also conducting operation of mobile courts to prevent harassment, teasing of women visiting various markets on the occasion of the holy month of Ramadan, he said, “If anyone fall victim of any kind of harassment, they must inform the on-duty RAB personnel. RAB will take legal action against those involved.”

Apart from these, joint operations are being conducted in coordination with other forces to prevent various frauds and extortion, he added.
