DHAKA, March 12, 2025 (BSS) - A court here today placed Shafi Muddaser Khan
Jyoti, son of former home minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal, on a three-day
remand in a case filed over attempt to murder medical staff Tanim Abdullah
Nahin with the capital's Rampura Police Station.

Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Awlad Hossain Muhammad Zunaid passed the order
as police produced Jyoti before the court and pleaded to place him on a five-
day remand.

According to the case documents, Nahin joined an anti-discrimination student
movement rally in front of Rampura BTV Headquarters on July 19. Police and
Awami league (AL) cadres attacked the rally, firing gunshots
indiscriminately. Nahin got shot on his leg. His mother Naznin Kabir filed
the case on September 26, 2024.

Muddaser Khan Jyoti was arrested from a house in the city's Uttara area on
September 13 last year.
