Fugitive drug dealer arrested with bullets, yaba at Tejgaon

DHAKA, March 12, 2025 (BSS) - Police arrested a fugitive drug dealer accused in multiple criminal cases in the Tejgaon area of the capital on Tuesday night.

The arrestee is Md. Sharif Khan alias Rajan.

Acting on a tip-off, a team from the Tejgaon Police Station raided a house on the 4th floor of a building in East Tejturi Bazar around 10:30pm on Tuesday, where they found Rajan.

During the arrest, the police recovered six rounds of pistol ammunition and 30 yaba pills from his possession.

Rajan, known for his involvement in drug trafficking and violent activities at Tejgaon, particularly in the Karwan Bazar area, was wanted in six drug-related and extortion cases filed at the Tejgaon and Sher-e-Banglanagar police stations, said a press release issued by Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) today.

Branding him as a professional terrorist, the press release added that Rajan was also an accused in three other criminal cases.

Legal action is underway against Rajan, said the press release.
